MUJI, Canada’s favourite Japanese store for minimalist products and style has just opened their Toronto-based flagship store! I’ve been hyping this on my social media since Black Friday… because like most, I’ve been waiting for the doors to reopen since they announced the store would be closed for renovations.
As you walk into the largest MUJI outside of Asia, you’re greeted by a beautiful chandelier. As you look beyond the hanging bulbs and shards of glass, you’ll notice the Bay and Dundas store is two-floors and is a whopping 19,110 square feet.
MUJI’s flagship store has many location exclusives that are bound to entice any enthusiast to visit.
A coffee counter
MUJI partnered with several coffee roasters in Toronto, who share the same community-philosophy, to offer ethically-sourced selections at $2.00 a cup.
An aroma bar
This service counter in the store’s lower level allows customers to create their own fragrance blend. By blending their favourite scents out of the 40 essential oils provided, customers can have a large variety of unique smells to personalize their home with.
MUJI YOURSELF customization service
From embroidery to laser engraving, and alteration to digital fabric painting, this location is the only place to get a lot of this done. Therefore, add this to your list of stops before the holidays to add that little bit of personalization to any gift!
These titles are carefully curated for both adults and children!
But it doesn’t stop there. They also have:
- Style Advisors
- Interior Advisors
- Made-to-order curtain and rugs
- and many products unique to the flagship store
They have expanded their stores throughout Canada as well as their line of products and services. Toru Akita, the president of MUJI Canada Limited says, “By allowing us to reach out to more people and to further convey our philosophy, the Atrium flagship store will open a new chapter for MUJI in Canada.”
