Still worried because you can’t figure out a costume for Halloween? Look no further, I got you covered… literally… with special effects to get this burnt look! Special effects makeup is the easier way to spice up any costume. Whether you’re going full glam, or full gore, it amplifies whatever costume you’re wearing.
Burnt skin makeup tutorial
In the video above, I show you three different methods of creating burnt skin. You do not need to do all three processes but all three combined into one gives the best effect and looks the most realistic. Those methods are:
- Shredded cotton balls
- Shredded facial tissue
- Coffee grounds
Pair any or all three with a boatload of liquid latex and fake blood, and you’ll be well on your way to a ghoulish good time.
Supplementary burnt flesh tutorial
I mention in the first video that I’ve done a tutorial on how to do burnt flesh special effects makeup on body parts. In this second video, I apply special effects makeup on my forearm to twist up a hot firefighter costume. I find that the burnt skin just adds a spooky/gory element to the otherwise sexy costume.
If this is the special effects makeup or costume you’re choosing to go with this Halloween, let me know in a comment below! Or tweet me a photo! I’d love to see 🙂
